MEDICATIONS
According to the World Anti-Doping Code, a medication should meet any two of the following three criteria to be included in the Prohibited List:
It has the potential to enhance sport performance
It represents a health risk to the athlete
It violates the spirit of sport.
The World Anti-Doping Agency annually updates the Prohibited List, where prohibited in sport substances, are listed. The presence of prohibited substance in the athlete’s sample constitutes anti-doping rules violation and may entail ineligibility imposition on the athlete.
If the athlete, because of his/here medical circumstances, needs to use the medication containing a prohibited substance, the athlete must apply for TUE.
